One month down the road

Building 700

What a difference a month makes. The picture of the footers for building 700 seen above has transformed into building 700.  The framing is coming along very nicely.  The Amish framers are so precise in their work, the framing is really a work of art.  They are true craftsmen.  By this time next week the roof will be complete.  This building is moving along.

Following on its heels is building 800, the last building on the right going down that drive to the back of the property.  The footers and slab are going in, and by this time next month construction should be at the same place building 700is now.

Building 800 Pad

Our biggest enemy is the weather.  There is more than a little mud.  Actually, there is a lot of mud, but with two buildings coming out of the ground our builder will have plenty to keep him busy.  Once the ground dries out this spring, he can get working on the remaining buildings.  This is a 15 month project, but the builder feels it will only take him 12 months, and that means revenues will be flowing in sooner.

I will keep you updated as news develops.  Feel free to post questions.

The Start of Clayville Landing Phase II

Artist's Rendering of Claysville Landing
Hi everyone!!!  After a long hard journey, the second phase of Claysville Landing has started.  This blog is an effort to keep all interested parties informed about its progress.  You can look forward to pictures of the construction as it progresses, and I will introduce you to the key people as we proceed down this 15 month adventure.

First things first, as they say a picture is worth a 1000 words, and frankly, there are a lot of people who wish I would use more pictures.  That way I write less.  What you see here is an artist rendering of Claysville Landing after it is completely built out.  The black and white represents the 88 units that are already there and fully leased, and the colored portion are the 120 units under construction.

Building 700 Footers
Now if construction was as easy as creating this drawing, this would be a very short blog.  Nothing is quite that easy.  Everything has to have a beginning.  What you see here are the footers being placed for the first building.  They are covered with white plastic to cure.  If you look at the rendering above, the location is the front most building for Phase II on the left side in the upper left corner, and it is known as building 700.

With the next entry in this blog you should see this building going vertical with framing.  Even with the bad weather, the project is on track.  Feel free to post questions on this blog, and I'll answer them the best I can.  Check back soon for the next posting.
